Talks for a brawl originally failed late over the Mexican’s demands that Plant representatives did not find acceptable. Speaking after the initial deal failed, Plant said: “Which is absurd: if I’m injured or ill, then he gets a late replacement for the same amount of money guaranteed, but if he falls. sick or injured, then we have to wait for him. “We were waiting for him to be done with his wedding, filming his TV show, his golf tournament and now we have tried to give him everything he wants and more to get this fight through. “I am more than willing, able, and ready to fight Canelo Alvarez on any date.”

Chris Mannix discusses the possibilities on the DAZN Boxing Show.
After stalled negotiations, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Caleb Plant finally came to terms on a Nov. 6 undisputed super middleweight championship fight, as announced Thursday. With the fight being made with Plant, who is a PBC fighter, is the door now open for Canelo to fight other PBC boxers such as Jermall Charlo or David Benavidez? Chris Mannix talked about those possibilities while appearing on a recent DAZN Boxing Show episode.
“No, it’s not the worst idea at all. Um, you know, those are, yeah, potentially big fights,” said Mannix over the prospects of Canelo fighting a Charlo or Benavidez in the near future.

“I’m kind of indifferent to Charlo, as I’ve been for many years now until he fights Demetrius Andrade, I don’t care. And Benavidez is I think it’s certainly a dangerous fighter. Although, you know, he needs to get back in the ring, maybe win a big fight of his own again.”
Mannix even broached the idea of Charlo and Benavidez fighting each other to get to Canelo. “How about Benavidez against Charlo?” Mannix continued. “The winner of that fight gets a shot at Canelo. I mean, like what? Like, yeah, I don’t believe that you should be able to walk into big opportunities. You have to earn them.” Both Charlo and Benavidez have expressed interest in fighting Canelo.

The mega-fight will be taking place on Saturday 6th November 2021 and should be available to view live and on-demand as part of a DAZN subscription.
Canelo’s previous two fights in 2021 were both shown on DAZN, with wins over Avni Yildirim in February and Billy Joe Saunders in May.
DAZN recently confirmed that they will be changing the price of the streaming service, with current subscribers on the £1.99 a month tier being moved to £7.99 as of the end of September.
Canelo Alvarez faces off against undefeated Billy Joe Saunders on Saturday to continue unifying the super middleweight division. We look at who took Alvarez’s zero.
The super-middleweight division will be on display this weekend as Saul “Canelo” Alvarez faces off against Billy Joe Saunders in the second of what is expected to be three title fights to unify the super middleweight division. Alvarez holds WBA and WBC titles while Saunders holds the WBO title. Barring a rematch, the winner of this fight will likely face Caleb Plant for the IBF title, which would unify the division.
Plant retained his title with a unanimous decision win over Caleb Truax in January, while Alvarez, who has only lost once in 59 fights, won his third title by defeating Britain’s Billy Joe Saunders in May, BBC reported. The fight, which is expected to be one of the greatest of 2021, was supposed to take place in September, but talks looked to have broken down. Here’s what’s to know.
The card gets going at 8 p.m. ET and will air on DAZN via live stream. We can expect Alvarez and Saunders to make their rings walk right around 11 p.m., depending on how long the undercard lasts. Alvarez enters the fight with a 55-1-2 record. The multi-weight class champion is unbeaten since entering the super middleweight ranks in 2018. The lone loss of his career came at super welterweight against pound-for-pound champ Floyd Mayweather on September 14, 2013. Two judges in that fight scored it in Mayweather’s favor (116-112 and 117-111) and one judge scored it a 114-114 draw. Alvarez entered the fight 42-0-1 and was the underdog, so it is not a surprise he lost his zero to an all-timer in the boxing ranks. Alvarez has two draws on his record and they came at very different times in his professional career. The first draw came in his fifth career fight, which came against Jorge Juarez. The four-round fight came on June 20, 2006, and was fought at welterweight. One judge scored it 39-37 for Alvarez, one scored it 39-37 for Juarez, and one scored it 38-38.
The second draw of Alvarez’s career came in a slightly higher profile fight. Following his loss to Mayweather, Alvarez won seven straight fights that included claiming the WBA and The Ring middleweight titles. In his 52nd career fight, Alvarez faced Gennadiy Golovkin for those two belts plus Golovkin’s WBC middleweight title on September 16, 2017. One judge scored the fight 115-113 for Golovkin, one scored it a 114-114 draw, and one went wildly the other direction with a 118-110 decision for Alvarez to create the draw. Alvarez never fought a second time against Mayweather or Juarez, but he did face Golovkin immediately after the draw. The two squared off on September 15, 2018, nearly one year to the day after their first fight. Alvarez won a majority decision, claiming two scorecards at 115-113 with a third scorecard deciding the fight a 114-114 draw.
Saunders enters this fight with s 30-0 record and held the WBO super middleweight title. Saunders claimed the title with a May 18, 2019 win over Shefat Isufi via unanimous decision. He is currently the fourth-ranked super middleweight. But negotiations over the showdown collapsed late last month, much to the disappointment of boxing fans around the world. The collapse of the bout, however, hasn’t stopped Canelo from working hard in the gym with coach Eddy Reynoso.
The Mexican shared a video of himself going through offensive and defensive drills with his countryman on his Instagram page. Canelo showed blistering hand speed as he cracked the pads and blocked his coach’s returning shots. The 31-year-old’s shuddering power was also on display as he mixed in vicious power left hooks with his fast straight punches. After finishing off the drill with a nasty hook, Reynoso told Canelo, ‘Eso been, which means ‘that’s good’ in English.
